You have to read this!

No, not this post, the one over at Chris Saul's blog.

You may be aware of the Johann Hari article on Dubai which appeared in The Independent. (If not, the link is below).

Chris has found another article written by a famous journalist and has posted it on his blog.

A short extract:

There is a common echo I hear in every one of the imaginary conversations I have with myself during my visit. Everyone has staff. Even maids have maids. Fifty years ago, there was nothing here but desert, roamed by dinosaurs. Now the desert is filled with runaway maids, sleeping under maxed-out expats' Range Rovers, with no-one to look after them but slightly more junior maids.

It's long, it's brilliant, I urge you to read it. You'll find it here.

To compare it with the original article by Johann Hari, you can read that here.

A very clever piece of satirical work by Chris.

Wasn't it just. Brilliant I thought.

A stunning parody. I wish I could write like that :)

Seabee, I have to disagree with you here; that parody was rubbish. You might not like it, but nothing in the original article was inaccurate.

P.S. Sorry to be a pain, I really enjoy your blog!

Anon@10.21, you're not a pain, simply expressing your opinion. The world would be a very boring place if we all agreed on everything :-)

I must correct you on "nothing in the original article was inaccurate" though.

There were plenty of inaccuracies, factual errors and downright lies. Have a look at my earlier posts on the article, such as 'Catching people's interest' and 'I agree so it must be balanced' including the comments, and they're detailed there.
