Boy, they were tired.

In the heart of downtown Deira, a much-needed break...and nothing distracted them...

Do you have any idea of the frequency of sexual (or related) assault on women in the UAE?

No statistics, but it's very low - as is all violent crime. It's a very safe country.

When I lived in Barsha (pre-MOE days) there was a construction site directly adjacent to our building. The construction company didn't provide any shelter for their workers (shock, surprise), so they would come into our garage for an afternoon nap. Many o' days I was stepping over a man in order to get into my car. I even saw them sleeping behind the rear wheels of other cars in the garage.

I believe the woman in the photo is a working girl, no? Dressed like that in Deira will wake almost any man from a dead sleep.

Cairogal no, I don't think she was a working girl. I think she was the kind of resident we're seeing more and more, unlike in the past, who dress as they would in their own country with no thought for where they are. There are plenty of them in places like MOE, men and women.

Satwa these days is full of people in singlets, shorts and flip-flops too.

They must have been pretty tired! It doesn't really matter much what women wear these days - I for one get stared at even while driving, which is the worst, coz you can't give anyone dirty looks while focusing on the road in front.

There are some really dirty guys out there...I don't mind being whistled at in Europe but the way some guys look @ women here is totally disgusting! And I'm not talking about locals, who have a way of looking without actually being caught lol
