Moving back to Dubai after 22 years has been an experience! Back then we didn't have the internet or blogs. Now we do I can jot down my thoughts on daily life, things we come up against, things we enjoy, the multi-national society, the laws, the weather...plus other things in general which catch my attention.

wow, thats an unprecedented degree of honesty ;P
Incredible!
To be fair, the arabic is correct: "buy one, get another (على الأخرى) for free."
Still a funny example of the risks of translation.
YAG thank you, I hoped someone would read the Arabic for us. It shows the dangers of slack proof reading in the English version.
(We'll probably get some Anons contributing conspiracy theories that it's discrimination against non-Arabic speakers though!)
I think it is a conspiracy theory & discrimination against non-Arabic speakers
There's also an asterisk after 'Buy one, get one', which suggests there may also be additional terms and conditions!
Thank you Anon :-)
* "until stocks last" perhaps?
Mr Goat, that popped up yet again in GN ads yesterday.
It's not just small local shops either, Samsung had sale prices "to the end of Ramadan or till stocks last" and Damas in two ads offered them "at selected outlets till stocks last"
With all the comment and ridicule about it you'd think copywriters and advertisers would have got it right by now.
