To be fair, the arabic is correct: "buy one, get another (على الأخرى) for free."

Still a funny example of the risks of translation.

YAG thank you, I hoped someone would read the Arabic for us. It shows the dangers of slack proof reading in the English version.

(We'll probably get some Anons contributing conspiracy theories that it's discrimination against non-Arabic speakers though!)

There's also an asterisk after 'Buy one, get one', which suggests there may also be additional terms and conditions!

Mr Goat, that popped up yet again in GN ads yesterday.

It's not just small local shops either, Samsung had sale prices "to the end of Ramadan or till stocks last" and Damas in two ads offered them "at selected outlets till stocks last"

With all the comment and ridicule about it you'd think copywriters and advertisers would have got it right by now.
