They're kidding, right?

It's in Arabian Business, not some sensationalist tabloid, so I tend to believe it.

I've checked the date and it isn't April 1st.

The report says:

Citibank’s UAE subsidiary has launched a marketing campaign offering residents a free one-way flight out of the country if they sign on for a personal bank loan.

Borrow up to Dh64,000 and they'll give you a one-way ticket out of here.

I need to go away and think about this one...

See what you think of the story, which is here.

Someone in their business development team has been basking in the sun for too long.

But even better:

"Those that take AED64,000 or more are gifted a return flight, the lender said in advertisements."

so they obviously will chase a defaulter for the larger loans!

Irresponsible, suggesting nobody has learned from the past few years.

I wish this was on offer before I left the Emirates... free ticket and extra gratuity payment all in one!!!

With credit card interest rates well in excess of 30%/yr, Citibank can afford it. Indentured servitude anyone?

Try leaving after resigning your job!

Dave, you missed your chance!

unrelated to this one but I got an interesting bulk messaging solution flyer through sms.

went to the website and well well, what do we see?

The first mode of contacting them listed there is - Skype!

So, a company launches a service in this country and tells me I can contact them via a method that is officially blocked!
