On Beach Road, what seem to be new villas, one of them a medical centre with an 'opening soon' banner...and they're being demolished.

Moving back to Dubai after 22 years has been an experience! Back then we didn't have the internet or blogs. Now we do I can jot down my thoughts on daily life, things we come up against, things we enjoy, the multi-national society, the laws, the weather...plus other things in general which catch my attention.

I was surprised to see this too. Lots of nice villas being ripped down. I wonder what could be built in their place that would fit in with the surroundings and give a better return on investment than what's already there?
I predict they'll be demolished and stay demolished for a while...
Those villas are only about five years old! What lunacy.
Some of them have never been inhabited. I went to the ruler's office more than a year ago and was told that they were not for rent. The built villas only to have them demolished. The same is going to happen to brand new villas on Al Wasl Road past the Iranian Consulate.

Hey, they've got to be seen to be keeping busy... even if it's for no purpose! If construction starts slowing-down for any reason, people might start gossiping after all! LOL...
