Thanks to the Egyptian Mail for these snippets of news, translated from stories in the Arabic press:

Moving back to Dubai after 22 years has been an experience! Back then we didn't have the internet or blogs. Now we do I can jot down my thoughts on daily life, things we come up against, things we enjoy, the multi-national society, the laws, the weather...plus other things in general which catch my attention.

The papers were amazing(ly horrific) when I visited Cairo recently. I particularly liked the Egyptian Gazette. Every day there were endless stories of the most bizarre sex-related crimes and misdemeanours, and it has a crackingly good crossword which I could never manage more than half of. (Or about a fifth, if I'm going to be honest).
I particularly like the fact that the fiery barber lived in the City of Peace.
