Cheap eats

Like me you probably often hear the complaint that it's expensive to eat out in Dubai.

But if you're prepared to give the five-star hotels a miss, it needn't be...

"Eat all you can" for Dh18 (US$4.90 or £3.20 or €3.65) with a choice of indoor air-conditioned or al fresco dining.

Coincidentally Beloved Wife and I ate there last week. Chaine des Rotisseurs it certainly ain't.

Mine was OK, but Madame was disappointed to discover that 'chicken' was in fact 'chicken livers'; a bijou problemette if you detest all forms of offal.

It's right next to the petrol station in Satwa, if any less-fussy gourmet wants to give it a whirl.

Thus ends the first entyr in the Grumpy Goat's very short restaurant review column.

Ghoonk Mr Goat's comment gives you the location.

Mr Goat, why didn't you go for the buffet, then Mrs Goat could have avoided the liver surprise.
