Moving back to Dubai after 22 years has been an experience! Back then we didn't have the internet or blogs. Now we do I can jot down my thoughts on daily life, things we come up against, things we enjoy, the multi-national society, the laws, the weather...plus other things in general which catch my attention.

Trivia PS
PS to my earlier posts about the abandoned BMW which was in the same place in Dubai Marina for about eighteen months. It was finally moved a couple of weeks ago.
This one...
Well, it seems to have been replaced by another BMW...
I have spotted scores of such cars in Sharjah, of various makes, like Ford Focus, Toyota Land Cruiser etc. The amazing thing is, most of these seem to be Abu Dhabi registered. I've also seen some with Ajman registration. Nice way to disappear: drive down to a far away emirate, leave your car and then vanish! I don't know why the Municipality hasn't collected these cars yet, after nearly a year. There are also two abandoned water tankers (trucks) next to the Saudi mosque here, for over six months now.
One goes & another one comes in to fill up..The course of life..By the way,if anyone plans to abandon more of these precious cars...please give me a buzz other than keeping them on the roadside for months.
Are there spots that are designated for abandoning cars? Perhaps a separate lot at the airport would work.
ReplyDeletewe have the same case, a honda and a range that's been in the same place for like a year now..
