The redundancy Porsche

Remember this shot I posted a few days ago?

I thought that was the end of the story, but there's a follow up.

The UK Daily Telegraph has an interview with the owner, one Andrew Blair.

According to the report:

Driving home through rush hour traffic with "made redundant today" and "project construction manager" on the rear of his vehicle, Mr Blair prompted calls from more than a dozen potential employers.

Good luck Andy.

The Telegraph story is here.

(Thanks to ZeTallGerman for the heads up and the headline)

  1. Check out all his Dubai police fines. Put in the license plate, shown in the Telegraph article, here: http://www.dubaipolice.gov.ae/dp/english/e_services.jsp?Page=A344&dPg=1&isEng=true

  2. James, it looks as though Andy takes a somewhat cavalier attitude to Salik.

The car is a bit battered around the back end too.

  3. He can't even abandon the car at the airport and skip the country with those fines against his name. Also three impounding's on the list

  5. This man should be deported; he is irresponsible and dangerous driver. He got fines exceeding up to 60% of limit speed, jumping red light. No wonder he got fired. My advice no one should hire.

  6. Anon@12.31 Dubai would have a very small population if your comments applied to all motorists ;-)

  7. Heard this guy on the radio.
    Seemed a nice enough guy.
With regard to his speeding fines. I'm sure everyone of us would have some skeletons in the closet if they had were scrutinized to his level.
    Good luck to him......
Have a look at my blog on dubai -

  8. And he was a nice enough guy, too!

    Nice to chat, Seabee!!! :))))

  9. I also heard you on the radio Seabee. The accent suprised a bit though......

As far as Andy's fines go, I had a look this morning at his offences and they do seem a bit excessive..... 35 fines outstanding, 12 black points, car wanted for impoundment....

But he sounded like a good guy and best of luck to him.

  10. Alex & Dave, I agree, I thought he sounded like a very nice guy too, and he did a great job of selling himself to any prospective employers who may have been listening.

    (The accent Dave?)

  11. Seabee, slightly British that's all..

  12. Dave, that's because I was born in England - lived there, Dubai, Singapore and of course Oz so guess the accent is a bit of a mixture

  13. I just wonder why the mobile number on the car is changing from publication to publication???

  14. There's something wrong here. The telegraph story has a different phone number on the car. Some kind of scam maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  15. No, not a scam. He had a couple of different phone numbers - if you look at the fourth comment left here you'll see an alternative number.
