Gentle humour

Driving along a street in Umm Suqeim I hadn't been on before I came across this, which raised a smile:

  1. ROFLMAO.

The first though that came to my mind was "Photoshop!"

  2. No, Billy, absolutely not, I swear it's unretouched. I just stopped the car and took the pic, uploaded it and this is it.

It's just an extension, I suppose, of all the colourful camels, horses and falcons that are dotted around the city, but a bit more creative than just standing one in front of a bank.

  3. Haha - this is very close to where we live - 2 streets away. My kids love these cows!

  4. I wonder if they're Kiwis - the cows were all over Auckland a few years ago before being auctioned off for charity.

Or they could be an Indian family - sacred cows and all that!

  5. Ok - Cow Parade has a worldwide life of its own!

  6. The cows were all over Sharjah mega mall a couple of years ago. I'd wondered where they went.

  7. These statues / art installations don't come cheap. A few years ago, all of Dubai saw the painted camels and falcons. My company was offered to purchase one of the camels... for a whopping price of 28,000 Dirhams...
Some of the camels can still be seen around town. For example: a camel covered in small mosaic mirror tiles is standing outside the Emirates Towers Hotel. I think they're lovely!

  9. ahirunopekkles, I agree it's cute, I was referring to the sense of humour of the people who set the scene up.
